The Black Ball Project grew out of profound personal loss and the long, uneven process of learning how to live with what cannot be changed. After losing his daughter Maaike, Warner found himself searching for ways to make sense of grief, keep standing, and eventually help others find steadier ground in their own lives.
What began as a deeply personal struggle slowly turned into something Warner wanted to carry forward. Through counselling, grief groups, and the support of others, he began to find language for what he had experienced and, over time, became involved in grief support work himself.
The Black Ball Project is an extension of that path. It is a place for thoughtful conversation about grief, resilience, perspective, and the possibility of finding meaning without pretending life has not changed.
